Cookbook Week is a five-day celebration of culinary storytelling taking place in San Francisco from April 21-25, 2026. We're bringing together acclaimed cookbook authors, chefs, and food writers for collaboration dinners, book talks, baking events, and our marquee theatrical production, Headnotes Live.
Anyone who loves cookbooks! Whether you're a passionate home cook, a cookbook collector, a food industry professional, or someone who just appreciates a beautiful book, Cookbook Week has something for you.
Events happen at venues across San Francisco, including the Presidio Theater (in the Presidio), Omnivore Books, Mister Jiu's, Foreign Cinema, Rich Table, Che Fico, Farming Hope, Kantine, Graffeo Coffee Roasting Co., and The Civic Kitchen.
All events are ticketed separately, so you can attend as many or as few as you'd like. Some events (like the book talks at Omnivore Books) are free, while others require ticket purchase.
Tickets are on sale now at cookbookweek.com and via our partners' websites
Pricing varies by event. Check the event page for details.
Regular tickets to Headnotes Live are general admission, Premium Seating guarantees a seat in one of the first three rows of the theater.
All sales are final. However, tickets are transferable‚ You can give or sell your ticket to someone else. Please send us a note via our contact page if you need to transfer a ticket.
Please send us a note via our contact page and we'll get you sorted out.
Yes! Authors will be available for book signings at most events. Our bookselling partner, Omnivore Books, will have books available for purchase at Headnotes Live, the book talks, and select other events. Doors of the Presido Theater open 90 minutes before showtime on 4/24 so come by early to buy books, meet the authors, and have them signed (plus you can do it all with some wine from our wine sponsors)
Headnotes Live will definitely contain some content that is best suited for adults. Parents should use their best judgement in bringing younger kids to these events.
Guests over 21 can enjoy tastings from beverage sponsors before the show begins but no food will be served
Approximately 2 hours with no intermission.
Personal photos are welcome at most events, but please be respectful of performers and other guests. Flash photography and video recording are not permitted during Headnotes Live.
For collaboration dinners, please note dietary restrictions when purchasing tickets or contact the restaurant directly.
The featured bake sale boxes contain almond-based treats (sponsored by the California Almond Board). However, Kantine's will have other items available for purchase, including nut-free options.
Parking availability varies by venue. We recommend using public transportation, rideshare, or biking when possible.
Be sure you join us at the Presidio Theater in the Presidio at 99 Moraga. This venue is NOT the movie theater on Chestnut Street
